**I. Job Summary**

Operates a wide variety of heavy equipments vehicles that perform the spreading and compaction of construction demolition, commercial and residential waste disposed at the post collection facilities.

**II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

Operates heavy equipments in compliance with the company operating safety policies and procedures.

Conducts routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment; maintains accurate records

Moves and positions raw materials and finished components with use of material moving equipments.

Follow appropriate standard operating procedures as guideline for operating and maintaining vehicle

Performs other duties as assigned.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Operates dozers, loaders, excavators, haul trucks or other types of large equipment used for the production of sand, gravel, stone used for Ready-mix and/or asphalt applications. Conducts routine daily inspections of equipment and maintains equipment in a clean and safe manner.

**WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH**

+ Operate various heavy equipment in order to loads trucks, feeds bins with various aggregate materials, maintain proper quantities of material to be loaded.

+ Maintain equipment: Keeps equipment clean and orderly.

+ Safety: Performs daily inspections on equipment to ensure safe operation.

+ Ensures that safety, compliance, environmental requirements are followed at all times.

+ Load material into bins, into crusher, into trucks or into plant.

+ Moves earth or other materials from one location to another.

+ Performs visual and safety inspection of equipment. May maintain appearance of equipment, proper air pressure in tires, proper fluid levels or perform minor repairs as needed

+ Completes are paperwork that may be necessary; assists with other duties required

About the Position

As an Equipment Operator (https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/capaz/classspecs?keywords=Equipment%20Operator) you would perform all work associated with operation and maintenance functions involving the Safe Driving, transporting, and/or operating the following, Dump Truck, Equipment Trailer, Water Truck, Backhoe, Loader, Small Dozer, and Mowing Tractor. Performs vehicle and equipment pre-maintenance and safety checks as required and makes necessary repairs. Services and maintains adjustments on equipment to ensure proper positioning and operation of equipment.

2. Performs a variety of maintenance functions which include operations, maintenance and repair of security fence and drainage structures. Performs repairs and replacement of concrete liner.

3. Assembles and uses tools, materials, equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish assigned tasks.

4. Uses small hand and power tools to perform routine maintenance tasks.

About the Qualifications

Successful candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five (5) years of craft training or experience. The preferred craft training and/or experience would include two (2) years of experience on 1 of the following (backhoe, small dozer (D3), loader, bobcat, mowing tractor, dump truck with equipment trailer and water truck). Must understands construction processes, terminology, and basic construction safety rules and be able to identify and properly use hand and power tools.

Certifications or Licenses:

+ A valid driver's license and a good driving record.

+ Must successfully obtain a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement within nine months of hire.

+ Will be required to obtain an applicators license to apply herbicides within eighteen months of hire.

7. Proficient across all outbound functions. Responsible for picking/packing/shipping of customer orders with a high level of accuracy and efficiency, including accurately selecting products in accordance with customer order specifications

8. Performs investigations and research independently where judgement is required to answer questions, resolve issues and confirm processes are completed in a timely manner with high accuracy.

9. Participates in all physical inventories and cycle count activities. Must adhere and follow written procedures to ensure inventory integrity.

+ Ability to accurately read and interpret multi-digit alpha numeric part numbers and lot number and differentiate between similar products in order to select appropriate product for shipment to ensure customer satisfaction.

+ Receives general supervision and direction on assignments and is then expected to complete work independently.

+ Able to independently complete routine and moderately complex assignments that require critical thinking and problem resolution.

+ Advanced computer skills including ability to accurately enter data, run reports and investigate issues in an automated ERP system.
