**Your Opportunity**
Our Chandler, Arizona Mining group has an immediate need for a Project Engineer to serve various clients in completing feasibility studies and detailed engineering projects for underground and surface mining operations, with an emphasis on copper processing.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
+ Work in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Stantec and its Clients.
+ Ensure all applicable safety codes, regulations and guidelines are met by appropriate design and use of technology.
+ Review and analysis of drawings for possible safety and constructability problems prior to issue to clients.
+ Provide clients with engineering support to meet their needs and incorporate client suggestions for future requirements in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
+ Act as the key link between the technical execution team and project management team on projects.
+ Manage and direct a team of engineers and designers in the planning and execution of project work including scoping, asset integrity assessments, feasibility studies, detailed engineering and technical support during construction and commissioning.
+ Regularly interface with the Client on project technical issues, while ensuring the identification and socialization of value opportunities, risks and mitigation to the project team and/or Client as applicable.
+ Implementing, maintaining, evaluating, and adjusting engineering processes on projects. This includes confirmation that mandated quality control steps are being followed, including Stantec’s Prevention Through Design and Hazard/Constructability Review programs.
+ Owning, monitoring, and reporting on engineering budget, progress, managing to engineering/procurement/construction schedules, and driving change management processes as they relate to engineering and design.
+ Delivering the project’s engineering deliverables on schedule in accordance with corporate and project processes and standards, while ensuring that multi-disciplinary interfaces are correct and complete.
+ Provide and/or coordinate engineering involvement in procurement and construction work packages, including scopes of supply/work, technical bid evaluations, recommendations to award, vendor/contractor data review and responses to RFIs.

+ The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, with the ability to handle change and work with minimal supervision.

+ Excellent knowledge of applicable design codes and familiarity with Mine Health and Safety Regulations.

+ Previous experience as a Project Engineer on detailed engineering/construction projects with a consulting firm or Owner’s team.
+ Previous experience in the design, specification, and installation supervision of mine processing plants, including milling, refining, and/or smelting operations.
+ You will regularly interface with other disciplines and departments to execute project.
+ Willingness to travel to client sites or other Stantec offices (~10% travel).
+ Ability to travel as required for project assignments.

**Education and Experience**
+ An Engineering in Training Designation is required and a Professional Engineering license in the State of Arizona is desired.

Position Summary
The Project Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for the design, testing and documentation of new products as well as supporting manufacturing. This role will collaborate with sales, business development and the customer to provide a solution to the customers’ design problems.
Responsibilities
+ Hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical component and system design, including new product development and support of sustaining production of existing designs.
