As Director of Manufacturing Engineering, you will shape and drive the strategic transformation of our Chandler, AZ site, leading automation, AI-enabled inspection, and advanced manufacturing initiatives in support of our long-term growth plan. With direct responsibility for a 15-person team, you’ll architect the future of high-reliability, hands-free production and mentor the next generation of engineering talent. This role is central to doubling our Arizona site output and scaling PacSci, while building the systems and people that will power the next era of growth.
Responsibilities:
+ Lead an 15-person team across automation, equipment, and manufacturing engineering to drive production innovation.
+ Define and implement a roadmap to achieve hands-free manufacturing by 2030.
+ Advance AI-driven inspection systems, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and Optical Geometric Inspection (OGI) and mistake-proofing strategies to ensure process reliability.
+ Oversee complex energetic material manufacturing processes with strict compliance to safety and ITAR standards.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Quality, and Operations to improve manufacturability and throughput.
+ Lead development and transformation of work instructions and process documentation.
+ Drive standardization and sustainment of equipment and tooling strategy.
+ Develop internal SMEs for key processes and promote best practice sharing across facilities.
+ Engage with customers to align technical roadmaps and support a more integrated engineering-commercial interface.
+ Champion continuous improvement and talent development using Ralliant Business System (RBS) principles.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
+ 10+ years of experience in manufacturing/operations engineering; 5+ years in technical leadership roles.
+ Proven success with automation and transformation initiatives in regulated, high-consequence industries.
+ Deep experience with CMM programming, optical inspection, and AI-driven process control.
+ Background in low-volume, high-mix production environments, ideally within aerospace or defense.
+ Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams and develop early-career engineers.
+ Strong experience leading continuous improvement initiatives with lean manufacturing principles, change management, and structured problem-solving approaches.
+ Effective communicator with experience presenting to executive and customer stakeholders.
+ Familiarity with equipment strategy, tooling sustainment, and digital work instruction systems.
+ U.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR regulations.

**Bonus or Equity**
This position is also eligible for bonus and equity as part of the total compensation package.
**Pay Range**
The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 152,600.00 - 283,400.00
**Is this role subject to ITAR?**
