**A Day In the Life:**
The primary mission of the Director, Planning and Design function is to oversee the managing of the planning and design for all airport construction projects across North America. This role is designed to work closely with stakeholders across North America on planning and design for all RAC projects
**What You'll Do:**
The Director, Planning and Design will provide overall management of planning and design for all RAC projects in North America.
The Director, Planning and Design will bid and will hire architects, designers, and engineers to ensure completion of projects.
The Director, Planning and Design will manage and oversee the complete design process for all construction projects to permit and will also direct the final design of all facilities
The Director, Planning and Design will organize and direct activities of design team and coordinate with construction on timelines.
Key stakeholders will include but are not limited to Hertz Operations, Architects and Engineers, Airport Authorities, RAC, Legal, Properties and Concessions and Construction Project Managers.
Manage and lead a team of Design Managers.
**What We're Looking For:**
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering requested. Advanced degree preferred.
Professional Experience:
Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Director or Project Manager level as an owner’s representative of a major travel industry corporation.
Knowledge and skills:
Knowledge of Construction practices and terminology
Comprehensive knowledge of practices and ability to use in complex situations
Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws, standards regulation, and ordinances
Building codes background
Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel
Proficient in Lotus Notes
Sage Timberline knowledge/background
Able to manage design staff and external vendors
Works within all defined timelines
Ability to use independent judgement in routine and non-routine situations
Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written
Proven leadership and management skills and change agent initiatives.
