Lead Systems Engineer

The role requires a talented and experienced Model-Based Systems Engineer to contribute to digital transformation initiatives and new product development. This position involves applying MBSE principles and methodologies to complex systems, promoting a model-based approach throughout the engineering lifecycle, and ensuring the development of high-quality, technically sound models. This position will work closely with the Systems Chief engineer to develop capability and processes.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

+ Lead or support the development and implementation of MBSE solutions for aerospace engineering projects

+ Define and manage system architectures, interfaces, and requirements using MBSE tools in conjunction with the Chief Systems engineer

+ Develop and maintain system models using industry-standard modeling languages such as SysML or UML

+ Ensure model consistency, traceability, and integration across multiple programs

+ Translate system requirements into functional and logical architectures, allocating them to physical implementations

+ Analyze MBSE models to derive system concepts of operations (ConOps)

+ Utilize system architecture models to support system engineering milestone reviews

+ Ensure model compliance with customer-approved style guides and internal development plans

+ Provide expertise in integrating models across different software applications and domains

+ Research new requirements, technologies, and threats, applying innovative engineering methodologies

+ Mentor junior engineers in MBSE processes and tool usage

+ Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, software developers, and domain experts

+ Prepare and deliver technical presentations and documentation for stakeholders

**YOU MUST HAVE**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

+ 7+ years of experience with systems engineering processes and tools.

+ Experience applying MBSE principles and methodologies to system development

+ Expert with MBSE tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, or SysML

+ Proficiency in modeling frameworks, methodologies, and ontologies (such as OOSEM, MagicGrid)

+ Knowledge of modeling languages like SysML or UML with focus on development of executable models and co-simulation

**WE VALUE**

+ Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline

+ Aerospace and/or gas turbine engine development experience

+ Relevant industry certifications (e.g., OMG-Certified Systems Modeling Language™ (SysML®) Professional (OCSMP), INCOSE certifications)

+ Experience with specific architecture frameworks (e.g., Unified Architecture Framework (UAF))

+ Experience with specific domains (e.g., Aerospace and Defense, radar or RF systems)

+ Experience with Agile methodologies

+ Experience with specific tools or platforms (e.g., DOORS, IBM Rhapsody, Confluence, JIRA)

+ Modeling for Safety-Critical Systems and Cyber

+ Familiarity with DevSecOps workflows applied to Systems Engineering

+ Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

+ Bias for action and collaboration
