**Job Description**

As a Steel Fitter (Welder), you will be responsible for interpreting steel blueprints and structural prints to accurately lay out and fit structural steel components for fabrication. Your expertise in marking welding symbols on steel beams will ensure precision in the welding process. You will work with thick metal ranging from 1 inch to over 5 inches, maintaining productivity while collaborating with your team.

**Responsibilities**

+ Interpret steel blueprints and structural prints.

+ Lay out and fit structural steel components for fabrication.

+ Mark welding symbols on steel beams for welders.

+ Work with thick metal ranging from 1 inch to 5+ inches.

+ Maintain productivity and work independently while collaborating as a team player.

**Essential Skills**

+ Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifically steel and structural prints.

+ Experience with structural steel and fitting processes.

+ Ability to stay focused and meet deadlines.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Fabrication experience is a plus.

+ Bilingual candidates are a plus.

+ Must be willing to work at least 20-25 hours of overtime.

**Work Environment**

+ You will be working in a steel fabrication shop environment under a large awning that covers the shop floor.

+ The shop is not climate controlled and can get hot, as it is a standard welding shop that is dusty, dirty, and loud daily.

+ This position requires working the 2nd shift from 5pm to 3:30am, with an average of 55 to 58 hours per week, as the team consistently bids on jobs with 100k plus man hours.

**Job Type & Location**

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Peoria, Arizona.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
