**Responsibilities**

The Registrar Lead plays a key leadership role within the hospital's Patient Access or Registration department. This position is responsible for overseeing daily registration operations, ensuring accurate and efficient patient intake, insurance verification, and data entry processes. The Registrar Lead provides guidance and support to registration staff, coordinates work assignments, and serves as a resource for complex or escalated issues. Additionally, this role ensures compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and privacy requirements. The Registrar Lead works closely with clinical and administrative teams to promote a seamless patient experience and support revenue cycle goals through accurate demographic and insurance information collection. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential for success in this position.

+ Collect estimated patient responsibility or screen patient for assistance programs.

+ Correctly code and verify insurance coverage.

+ Train new staff and provide continues and ongoing education to all PAR staff.

+ Provide assistance to patients presenting or calling with billing questions.

+ Assist Facility Administrator with patient complaints.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum:**

+ 1 year of recent medical office, hospital registration, or banking experience

+ 2 years of customer service experience

+ Associates Degree or a combination of education and job-related experience

+ American Heart Association-issued BLS card

**Preferred:**

+ 1 year of management, supervisor, or lead experience
