**Job Description:**

As a Welder Lead, you will oversee and guide a team of welders, ensuring that welding processes such as MIG and TIG are executed to the highest standards. You will engage in coaching conversations, create performance plans, and educate team members on welding techniques.

**Responsibilities**

+ Oversee and lead a team of 4-8 welders.

+ Conduct coaching conversations and develop performance plans.

+ Teach and coach on welding processes.

+ Perform and supervise advanced welding techniques such as multi-pass and pipe welding on complex processes.

+ Design and fabricate metal parts, components, and assemblies based on blueprints, drawings, or project specifications.

+ Mentor and train less experienced welders to improve their skills.

+ Inspect completed welds for strength, durability, and quality, and perform tests as needed.

+ Maintain welding equipment, ensuring it is in optimal working condition.

+ Troubleshoot and resolve complex welding issues, adjusting techniques and settings as required.

+ Collaborate with leadership, engineers, and other trades to ensure welding work meets specifications and timelines.

+ Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations at all times.

+ Follow lean manufacturing guidelines and suggest continuous improvements for gained efficiency.

**Essential Skills**

+ 7+ years of experience in welding, with extensive experience in fabrication work.

+ Experience in leading and supporting a welding team.

+ Expert knowledge of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and specialized methods.

+ Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications.

+ Proven leadership skills and experience in mentoring welding teams.

+ Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

+ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Extensive experience with welding stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.

+ Experience with thinner gauged steel welding.

**Work Environment**

The work environment requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch as needed, and climb portable ladders. Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required. Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination are necessary. The facility is located in Mesa, Arizona, and is equipped with modern state-of-the-art technology.

**Job Type & Location**

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NA, Arizona.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
