Job Description

Our client's operations team is seeking highly skilled and motivated Transportation Specialists to join this rapidly growing team. The Operations team drives the end-to-end operational execution of all loads, both internal and external, shipped on their network. The team supports regions and shippers across the Supply Chain network, ensuring on-time pickup and delivery of freight from vendors, fulfillment centers, rail yards, and shipper hubs. In cases of disruptions, the Operations team addresses the issue, keeps all stakeholders informed, and ensures timely resolution. This Operations team is the first line of defense in understanding network trends, delays, dwells, and other exceptions that impact our ability to deliver a world-class transportation product on time.

Responsibilities

+ Communicate with customers, carriers, railroad partners, vendors, suppliers, stakeholders, program managers, and fulfillment centers.

+ Pull data from numerous databases using Excel, SQL, and other data management systems to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis.

+ Understand performance metrics to assist with driving business results.

+ Rectify disruptions and breaks in processes, and follow standard work process to make informed decisions based on available data.

+ Provide real-time customer service by working in a fast-paced operating environment.

+ Systematically escalate problems or variances in information and data to relevant owners and teams.

+ Ensure follow-through on resolutions to deliver accurate information.

+ Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs while measuring and identifying activities performed.

+ Communicate both verbally and in writing to track trends and performance inefficiencies.

Essential Skills

+ Critical thinking skills to make inferences and decisions.

+ 1+ years of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel).

+ Experience in logistics, intermodal, SQL, supply chain, transportation, railroad, and maritime.

+ Knowledge of Excel (e.g., pivot tables, charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas).

+ Experience managing large data sets and utilizing them to drive performance and process improvements.

+ Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High School diploma or equivalent.

+ 1 year or more of experience in logistics/transportation.

+ Ability to work overtime as required.

+ Experience using Inventory Management Systems.

+ Understanding of inventory control methodology.

+ Demonstrated positive work attitude and leadership skills.

+ Commitment to a culture of safety.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role with in-office attendance required on specific days. The schedule is split between the front half (Monday/Tuesday) and the back half (Thursday/Friday). The shifts are Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday, from 6:30 am to 5 pm or 6 am to 4:30 pm. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring adaptability and the ability to work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
