**Northrop Grumman Defense Systems** has an opening for a **Sr Principal Quality Analyst** to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located at our **Edwards AFB, CA** facility.
This position involves quality oversight of aerospace support functions such as Ground Support Equipment (GSE), hand tools, Consolidated Tool Kits (CTK), Hazardous Material Storage and Waste, inventory, and parts control for quality and in a fast-paced operations environment. It requires knowledge and experience related developing and implementing program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications, working knowledge of aerospace industry standards, tool control, Foreign Object Elimination (FOE), and the use of / conformance to Technical Orders, Military Standards, and service guidance.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Read and understand work processes, procedures, and other conformance documents then audit for results.
+ Locate, identify, and accurately document nonconforming product/material at time of discovery per applicable procedures.
+ Visually and physically inspect work areas, CTK’s, equipment and tool control, Hazardous Material, and Supply Warehouse for compliance per process guidance requirements.
+ Mentor technicians on nonconforming products discovered during inspection to include engineering requirements, how to identify the nonconformance and process improvements.
+ Conduct risk-based evaluations, collaborate in root cause analysis, and monitor nonconformances for trends.
+ Develop, promote, and maintain collaborative team environment with fellow inspectors, support organizations and customers.
+ Work collaboratively as part of a team and individually to increase quality, efficiency, effectiveness and affordability through process improvement and other quality control methods.

**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience; or Master's degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience; 12 or more years related experience in lieu of degree.
+ Must have an Active DoD Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain Special Program Access
+ Must have technical strengths in processing, operations, and auditing
+ Must be able to use standard measuring inspection tools/equipment and able to read and understand blueprints, technical specifications, and operating procedures.
+ Proficient in Microsoft applications
+ This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling.
+ Must be able to work 2nd shift 4/10 (M-Th) schedule
+ Must be able to work onsite in Edwards, AFB, CA
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 4+ years of aircraft structures or ground support equipment, systems, or electrical experience.
+ 4+ years of aircraft or aerospace quality experience.
+ Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written.
+ Experience with AS9100-d, LEAN, Six-Sigma
**Salary Range:** $113,500 - $170,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
