**About this role:**
Wells Fargo is seeking a Control Management Director for our Consumer and Small Business Banking (CSBB) Control Management Leadership Team. The Business Control Management team is responsible for partnering with relevant business groups to identify, assess, manage and mitigate current and emerging risk exposures associated with their activities and operations. This senior leader will be responsible for front line of risk management delivering on Control Management priorities through alignment of risk and control lifecycle responsibilities to the businesses they support.
This role will lead the Business Controls team supporting the Teller, Fraud & Operational Risk Events division. This highly visible strategic leadership role will work closely with other senior leaders across CSBB and the company in the development and execution of the Risk Management Lifecycle Phases and will be responsible for ensuring optimization and process effectiveness of Controls Management.
**In this role, you will:**
+ Manage and develop a team of Senior/Lead Control Management Officers with focus on delivering service of moderate to high complexity for cross functional stakeholders and internal partners associated with the function or affected by its outcomes.
+ Manage and develop a team of Senior/Lead Control Management Officers with focus on monitoring and reporting the status of issues and action plans, sustainability of processes within CSBB with relevant issue owners and assurance teams.
+ Manage and develop a team of Senior/Lead Control Management Officers responsible for partnering with their relevant business group to develop and maintain a strong control environment leading to the early identification and sustainable mitigation of operational risk. Responsible for Risk Identification & Assessment, Control Design & Evaluation, Issues & Control Deficiencies and Control Governance & Reporting.
+ Develop, implement, and track key CSBB Control priorities by partnering with key leaders across the CSBB Control group ensuring all priorities remain on track and aligned strategically.
+ Partnering with committee governance process across the CSBB businesses which include governance committees as well as other business forums, and produce weekly & monthly reporting updates to senior control & business leaders.
+ Partnering with key leaders across CSBB Control to ensure the team has all necessary resources while promoting a strong expense discipline and culture.
+ Partnering with process and technology owners to design and build controls and develop effective monitoring and measurement routines.
+ Identify opportunities and strategies for process improvement and risk control development over the long-term to ensure operational excellence and process efficiency.
+ Support key meetings such as CSBB Control town halls, control leadership meetings, as well as offsites and other key engagement activities.
+ Support the program implementation team with a strong focus on RCSA activities along with supporting other key program implementations and changes across the control group.
+ Identify opportunities for process improvement and risk control development by overseeing strategy and execution of all activities
+ Lead Business Controls team by making strategic decisions to resolve highly complex issues by ensuring all process weaknesses or gaps are identified and remediation plans are supported and acted upon
+ Interpret and develop range of policies and procedures for business functions with moderate to high complexity and risk
+ Collaborate with and influence corporate heads, business heads, legal, audit, regulators, industry partners, elected officials, and trade groups including more experienced leadership
+ Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and aligned with strategic objectives in Business Controls functional area
+ Develop and guide a culture of Business Controls talent development to meet business objectives and strategies
**Required Qualifications:**
+ 8+ years of Risk Management or Business Controls experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
+ 4+ years of Management experience
+ Strong expertise in Branch Banking processes and systems, Fraud & Operational Risk Events
**Desired Qualifications:**
+ Expert business acumen in Consumer & Small Business Banking, enterprise risk management framework including risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance.
+ Ability to effectively manage and build relationships within the Control Management function and with business partners.
+ Ability to identify appropriate stakeholders to resolve challenges and forge solutions.
+ Strong understanding of policies, procedures, and programs to ensure appropriate and effective risk mitigation controls are in place.
+ Ability to make subjective and informed decisions based upon output, influence stakeholders and justify decision making.
+ Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders.
+ Ability to analyze, problem solve with demonstrated excellence at identifying stakeholders, understanding needs, and driving decision- making/resolution through a consensus building approach.
+ Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment.
+ Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with an ability to translate ambiguous ideas or issues into well-defined plans and solutions with a track record for delivering results.
+ Ability to build and lead a high-performing team, ensuring proper staffing and expertise, and manage the establishment of major policies and relevant control programs for a major business division within a large and complex organization.

**Pay Range**
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$173,300.00 - $359,900.00
