Description
The Buckeye Union High School District is seeking interns
to support a variety of district and school
campus projects, help staff and students with technology
needs, and occasionally assist with cybersecurity
alert remediation. This is a general IT position focused on
customer service, endpoint management, and
campus infrastructure management.
Location: Buckeye Union HS, Estrella Foothills HS,
Youngker HS
Number of Hours per week: 14
Duration of Internship: January-May 2025
Compensation: Unpaid. This internship may qualify for a
WIRCCS scholarship that can provide up to $1,000.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work through campus IT tickets, review ticket SLAs,
and provide staff and students with general IT
support on issues with Windows and Chrome
devices.
• Work with enterprise on-prem and cloud endpoint
management tools to help implement policies,
troubleshoot endpoint configuration profiles,
deploy applications, and protect domain identities.
• Assist computer technicians in the school’s Tech
Center by interacting with students, diagnosing
and repairing laptops, maintaining inventory, and
conducting device forensics.
• Assist campus technicians with various campus
projects by interacting with staff and campus
administration, and helping maintain network,
security, and telecommunication infrastructure.
• Assist in remediating cybersecurity alerts on
endpoint devices.
• Play a role in shaping district operations by writing
and publishing standard operating procedures.
Internship Requirements
• Must possess or be able to quickly obtain an IVP
Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Must be currently enrolled at EMCC
• Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA
• Must have completed at least one semester at Maricopa
Community Colleges or previous internship experience
• Basic troubleshooting skills for network and computer
systems hardware and software (Windows, Chrome).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills,
including the ability to create clear and concise technical
documentation, and to disseminate technical
information to a non-technical audience.
• Ability to work under direct supervision, independently,
and in group settings, on various day-to-day tasks as well
as overarching internship-long projects.
