Responsibilities Job Summary The Director, Research Program Management is responsible for the oversight of the clinical research program management staff including (but not limited to) the research division clinical trial portfolio managers, the research division research support specialists, and other research or office personnel as assigned. Using clinical research knowledge and leadership skills, this position will develop and manage the program management staff and advise on infrastructure required to effectively manage the research division's research objectives. The Director will help identify research and development areas that should be investigated, that the research portfolios are appropriately managed, and connections with external sponsors is continuously growing and that HRIs strengths are consistently communicated with potential sponsors. This incumbent will maintain effective and collaborative relationship with research division leaders as well as research program leaders. The incumbent will direct activities in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations, organizational policy and procedures. The Program Management Director will work in collaboration with all service lines and hospital executive leadership, Medical Directors, Directors of Operations, and the management teams associated to lead the program management team to higher scientific, financial and community benefit success for HonorHealth. The program management director is responsible for administrative operations to ensure a high level of portfolio management and customer service. He or she also represents the research divisions and research programs in communication with clinical trial sponsors, clinical research organizations, and strategic partners. The program management director is the point of contact for operational communications between the research division programs and the other HonorHealth departments. Designs, implements and manages a system for organizing, planning, and measuring research portfolio performance of HRI Research Division clinical trials programs. Develops and implements departmental processes for the conduct of program management and all sponsor relationships. Implements quality control processes to ensure clinical trial portfolio data and documentation are accurate, and reflect a continuous cycle of process improvement. Assists with creation & implementation of tools to continuously improve team’s performance. Communicates department’s measurable improvements & positive trends to management. Assists with team guidelines adherence to timely preparation of study documents, administrative trial feasibility reviews, and investigator portfolio reporting. Oversee program management staff and ensure adequate staffing levels, inclusive of hiring/onboarding, evaluating, managing performance, coaching and developing employees ensuring employee productivity, quality of work, and alignment of goals with our mission, vision, and values. Ensure compliance with all policies, financial stewardship by being accountable for the financial integrity around budget development and maintenance of department and research division budgets. Tracks, analyzes and reports on operational metrics to influence strategy, philanthropic support, and marketing for the all HRI Research Divisions. Oversees the evaluation of all new protocols for feasibility, and ensures the protocol selection process is carefully monitored to achieve the goals of each research division and HRI. Regularly rounds in all areas of the research divisions as well as associated clinical environment (service line, hospitals) to ensure efficiency and seamless patient and research support flow throughout the department. Meets with Division Leaders, Program Leaders, and Research Sponsors to alleviate any concerns. Project Expansion and Program Development: Works with other HRI operational division to ensure the timely development and activation of clinical trials, grants, abstracts, posters, manuscripts and presentations for peer- review journals and conferences. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree Required Experience 7 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in a clinical setting Required 5 years As an operational leader in a clinical research setting. Required
