    Job Overview:

    The Lead Operator is responsible for overseeing daily operations in our Spoke NA1 metals recycling plant located in Mesa, Arizona, ensuring the efficient processing of scrap metal materials. This role will involve leading a team of operators, ensuring safety, maintaining equipment, and optimizing productivity while adhering to environmental and regulatory standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Operational Leadership:

    • Supervise and lead a team of operators in the metal recycling facility.
    • Coordinate daily work schedules, monitor team performance, and provide guidance.
    • Ensure operators are trained on equipment use, safety protocols, and proper recycling methods.

    2. Plant Operations:

    • Operate and monitor machinery used in the metal recycling process (e.g., shredders, crushers, separators).
    • Balance throughput on multiple production lines to meet operating goals.
    • Ensure machines are running efficiently, making necessary adjustments and troubleshooting as needed.
    • Oversee the sorting, processing, and packaging of recyclable metal materials.

    3. Safety Compliance:
    • Enforce safety standards and ensure all team members follow OSHA regulations and plant safety protocols.
    • Conduct daily safety briefings and regularly review safety procedures.

    Who we are
    Chandler was the first city in Arizona to receive accreditation of our water and wastewater operations by the American Public Works Association, the toughest accreditation to achieve in the industry. The Utilities Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City's water, wastewater and reclaimed water infrastructure. The Utilities team maintains and operates one water, one brine reduction and three wastewater facilities. We treat over 64 million gallons of fresh water and treat over 30 million gallons of wastewater per day to class A+ reclaimed water to meet irrigation and industrial demands. Our water is received from four primary water sources: Salt River, Verde River, Colorado River and ground water supplied by our extensive well field facilities. We also use advanced treatment processes to recycle over 7 million gallons of industrial wastewater and return it back for industrial reuse.     The Operator is responsible for operating a given number of plastic blow molding machines (including in-line equipment), and makes necessary adjustments or minor repairs to ensure production of containers is made in a safe, efficient and high quality manner. The primary duties of an Operator include:

    + Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices.
