We are currently seeking a **Design Manager** to lead and manage the delivery of engineering services within the projects business at Honeywell.

The Design Manager will be responsible for achieving all allocated engineering objectives while ensuring that all assigned scope of works are completed in accordance with established guidelines and standards while meeting project timelines and budgetary constraints.

+ Lead the management of design reviews and safety audits, ensuring the consistent application of standards and technical excellence and provide highest level technical advice for improved design solutions

+ Provide strategic advice and direct the management of technical aspects of projects including the technical contents of contract documents

+ Motivate, encourage and inspire the development of a strong, effective, efficient, ethical and professional team with a clear focus on the delivery of planned outcomes and the continual development of the capabilities and capacities of the individual team members

+ Working with the project engineering manager to develop and manage project engineering plans, budgets and risk management plans, control costs

+ Act as internal consultant on all relevant engineering matters with respect to designated disciplines

+ Degree qualifications in engineering or a related discipline from an Australian University or equivalent. (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics)

+ 10+ years of experience working in complex infrastructure projects with a minimum of 4 years in an engineering management/leadership position

+ Proven track record in a project engineering capacity involved in the delivery of large and complex technology-based construction and infrastructure projects

+ Rail industry experience is highly regarded

+ Experience in interacting with a range of key stakeholders, both internal and external, while successfully delivering major projects
