**Required Skills:**

Software Engineer, Android Responsibilities:

1. Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for user interfaces, infrastructure, and/or tools supporting applications on Android using the Android SDK.

2. Work closely with product and design teams to build new and innovative application experiences for Android.

3. Work on problems of moderate scope and implement custom native user interfaces using the latest Android programming techniques.

4. Receiving general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments, build reusable Android software components for interfacing with back-end platforms.

5. Resolve a variety of issues by analyzing and optimizing UI and infrastructure application code for quality, efficiency, and performance.

6. Play a critical role in the product engineering plan, including product definition, scoping, prioritization, rollouts and launch.

7. Make the right engineering tradeoffs in the context of a wider product or project goal.

8. Grow and mentor team members to success through project opportunities and other feedback.

9. Handle ambiguity in product definition and a Strong communicator.

10. Clearly explain technical problems with data and analyses, provide feedback to peers.

11. Telecommute from anywhere in the US permitted.

12. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics or related field. Requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following:

13. 1. C, C++, C#, or Java

14. 2. Python, PHP, or Haskell

15. 3. Relational databases and SQL

16. 4. Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)

17. 5. Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS including file manipulation and simple commands

18. 6. Core web technologies: HTML, CSS, or JavaScript

19. 7. Building highly-scalable performant solutions

20. 8. Distributed systems including sharding, consistency, and availability

21. 9. Algorithms.

**Public Compensation:**

$268,032/year to $290,180/year + bonus + equity + benefits
